A pair of distinguished local non-profit organizations - Blind Industries and Services of Maryland (BISM) and The Polakoff Foundation -- are teaming up once again for the 2nd annual Mardi Gras Celebration fundraiser February 23, 2013 at the Sheraton Baltimore North in Towson from 7-11 p.m. The sure-to-be-memorable Mardi Gras Celebration will be emceed by WBAL-11 NBC TV news anchor Stan Stovall and feature the music of New Orleans-flavored Pete Gumbo & Zydeco a-Go-Go. The tasty menu includes Shrimp and Andouille Etouffe, Carved Beef, Freshly Shucked Oysters, Petite Muffalettas, Crispy Oysters, Bourbon Street Wings, Bananas Foster & Cherries Jubilee served with vanilla ice cream, King Cake and more! Beer and wine is included and the popular Hurricane Bar is back! Former Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich and his wife Kendel are special guests and there will be a unique live Mardi Gras mask auction, silent auctions, and amazing costumes! Dress is black-tie optional and Mardi Gras masks/costumes are highly recommended.
